August Taschen is a frustrated man. He came to Quinlan University nearly four years ago--after the previous arcane construction professor died unexpectedly. He accepted with the understanding that within a reasonable amount of time he would be granted full professor status and a substantial pay raise. Instead he has faced repeated delays and postphonements from the University Administration.

August has a reputation for being a tough teacher and an ass. Although he values hard work, he thinks very little of what the students produce. In his opinion most of them are barely beyond mouth breathing cretins, but one or two of them may have enough innate intelligence and talent to do something with what he's trying to teach them.

He's considered by a good number of the females (and gay males) on campus as the hottest man on campus and there's no shortage of students who would willingly hop in the sack at the word from him. He ignores the lot of them and their attempts to grab his attention. As far as he's concerned they're all either jail-bait or too immature to understand what he's looking for (and therefore not worth the bother--or risk of losing that promised promotion).

When August isn't at work he's a much happier man to be around (although calling him pleasant may be a bit of a stretch). He has an active social life, and unless work requires otherwise he is usually out or entertaining. He has a limited circle of friends, and most of those are people he has met on the D/S scene. He enjoys topping and considers it his main hobby. Until lately he hasn't had any problem with his lifestyle affecting his career but a few of his friends have suggested that it may be the reason he has not had the promised promotions. (Of course it could just be that he rubs a lot of the administration the wrong way and its being withheld from spite!)

Romantically, August likes to play the field and he has no shortage of dates or partners. Despite his abrasive personality, he is charismatic and charming when he wants to be. He is not interested in any deep emotional relationships and is just looking for someone to have fun and enjoy this part of life with...He likes sex and seduction and wants as much of it as possible. He dislikes clingy partners and as soon as one starts becoming that way he is on the way to dumping them--or setiing up circumstances in such a way that they leave him.
