Eclectic in her tastes, Leela parlayed her talent for fashion and art into a lucrative career. She is the owner of Unique, and has enjoyed considerable success with her designs and creations. Currently she is considering an offer from Ruchira Patel to allow her to have part interest in the business. Although it is successful, she would enjoy it more if she could spend more time creating the clothing and accessories she loves rather than the mundane (and dreadfully boring) details of running a business. Leela's Background: A native of Burlington, Vermont, Leela's spent a lot of her adult life traveling and living life. Her family comes from Quebec, Canada and relocated to the US in the 1940's. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, and after that (and a short internship at the House of Verdun) she decided to go overseas and travel. She used most of her savings on her trips and frequently took temporary work to pay her way. She spent 3 years abroad in France, and can still speak it fairly fluently. She came home and although she had few job offers in her field she decided that she wanted to do it her own way and produce one-off clothing. Her designs were popular and she's developed a brand name for her products, and there is always a demand for them. Five years ago she decided to open up an exclusive boutique to make the most of the market--the clientle of Quinlan could certainly afford her prices and were appreciative of her designs.
